Tutorials Continue..Glossy Accents and Glitter Glue Projects

We are continuing our tutorials and this week we are demonstrating how to use Glossy Accents and Glitter Glue. These are some of my favorite things.

Glossy Accents Sticker:

To make this cute little project you will need:
*A sticker/cut out/paper/etc.
*Glossy Accents

Step 1: Start with a plain sticker. You can also use a die cut or even patterned paper. Wherever you choose to use your Glossy Accents will transform! I used a plain sticker and mounted it on cardstock.













Step 2: In a circular motion, squeeze your bottle of Glossy Accents. Make sure you cover completely the areas you want to be glossy. Note that when you are finished your project will look cloudy. This will disappear when its dry.












Step 3: Let it dry. When its done drying, your end result will be glossy. In my example, I took a plain sticker and made it into a puffy sticker. So simple!


Hint: DON'T shake your bottle. This will create air bubbles. I dropped my bottle so you can see the bubbles on mine, try to be more careful than I was. :)








Glitter Glue Flowers:

To make this Glitter Glue project you will need the following:










1.) Glitter Glue color of your choice
2.) Die Cut Flower











Step 1: Cut out your flowers





Step 2: Choose your Glitter Glue colors. I chose Lavender and Crystal.

Step 3: Cover your flower with the Glitter Glue.






Step 4: Choose a center for your flower. I chose rhinestones. I put my rhinestone in after the glue has had a chance to dry most of the way. I was able to press my rhinestone in so the glue could hold it down in place.


Step 5: Let it finish drying and you're done. You can incorporate these flowers in your pages or cards!






I also like to use glitter glue to dress up plane patterned paper. I recommend using Crystal, Diamond or Star Dust on your printed paper. The reasoning behind this is because it dries clear with sparkles, so you can still see the design of the paper. This technique can be used to dress up your pages and cards, experiment and have FUN!

Chic Headband

Chic Headband:
This is a fun and super easy to do headband that you can make in no time. Perfect for kids to do as well.

Here is what you'll need:

1.) 1 Fabric Quarter (Cut 2 1" strips)
2.) 4 Coordinating Fabric Quarters (Layering the Flower)
3.) 1 Headband
4.)1 Button
5.) 1 Hair clip/barrette
6.) Tacky Glue
7.) Needle/Thread
8.) Interfacing (Optional)

*I used a fabric quarter. I cut a slit in about 1" wide. Then you tear it all the way down. You can choose to use scissors if you want or tear it for a messier look. I used (2) strips of fabric.
*I took a headband and began to wrap the fabric around the headband. Be sure to overlap your fabric. When you get to the end and are ready to start your second piece, wrap your second piece over the first to hold it in place.






*When you are finished wrapping your fabric pieces around your headband, take the tail and tuck it under and through a wrapped piece. This will hold it together, plus add a cute little detail to your headband.


*I chose to add a flower to my headband. You can make this flower several ways. I took my Cricut machine and cut out 4 sizes of the same flower in 1/2" increments. I traced those flowers onto my fabric and cut them out. Once they are cut out, layer them.

*You can also create flowers using a Sizzix machine or even just drawing your own flowers.

*You can also choose to iron on interfacing to your fabric flowers. This helps make it more stiff and less flimsy. I chose not to use the interfacing on this particular flower; however, I do recommend it!


*After you have layered your flowers, pick a fun button for your centerpiece. I took a needle and thread and hand sewed my button to my flower. This will hold all of your layers together.

*On the back of your flower, take a hair clip/barrette, and glue it to your flower. I used Tacky Glue.

*You can also take coordinating ribbon and glue it around your metal hair clip before attaching it to your flower. By adding the hair clip this makes it so you can attach the flower directly to the hairband or makes it interchangeable so you can clip it into your hair or onto another hairband.

*I clipped my flower where I tucked my fabric after wrapping.


*And this is your final result. A cute, hip, and chic hairband that can be taken apart and reused if you wish.

Envirotex Crafts

Have you ever created a Tile Board? It's actually quite fun! I created these fun little Tile Boards and I thought I'd give you a few simple steps so you can create your own!


Tile Boards:

*You will need to go to your local craft stores to find the boards and the Envirotex. Boards can come in several sizes and the grooves can be different for each as well. The Envirotex is what gives you the glassy finish.

*The Envirotex will usually tell you how much you will need to mix to cover your specific board size.

*You will need to paint the cracks of your board and the sides. (I chose black in this one and I also Mod Podged some fun looking paper.)

*I chose to place a picture as my focal point. You can put anything you would like. You will need to Mod Podge it down and then poor your Envirotex. Make sure you follow the directions and get all your bubbles out! Let it dry, and YOUR'E DONE!! (You can also add a frame to your tile board, but that is optional.) You have just created a beautiful piece of art work that you will treasure forever!

In this Tile Board, I used pictures and scrapbook embellishments. I painted my board in coordinating colors that matched my embellishments. I took the main picture of this Tile Board with the flash on so you could see the glassy finish of the Envirotex.



































Glass Block:

This is another project you can do using Envirotex.

*I went to the hardware store and purchased the glass block.

*I chose a picture to be my focal point and Mod Podged it to the glass block.

*Lay your block down flat and poor your Envirotex. I did a thin coat.

*When it has finished drying, stand it up. This makes your picture look like it is part of the block!

*I used my Cricut machine and cut out a saying in vinyl. This will dress up your block if you don't want to take the time to decorate it.

*To finish, I wrapped ribbon around the block and tied a bow at the top.

You can also choose to add other embellishments to your blocks or Tile Boards. You can add flowers and bling to dress yours up.

I haven't tried it myself, but someone showed me that they created a tile board and they Mod Podged napkins from their wedding. They Envirotexed over it and when it dried it was amazing....so experiment and see what you can come up with. It just may end up being something you'll treasure forever!

Just For Fun Project

Hi everyone! I have been working on a fun project and I thought I would share the results with you! I made this really fun (and SUPER easy) pillow case. Its SO easy, my HUSBAND made some too! Now, I don't do ANY sewing at all, but I bought this fun pattern and did my first project and this is how it turned out. I used 3 different fabrics and its really cool because you do a "french seam" I believe is what they call it. It makes it so you don't see the seam where they touch there. It was so cute and way comfy so I thought I would share!
